Graves in the Water

a generative theatrical piece

What is it.

Graves is a collaborative piece on all fronts. From performance to design, the artists (theatre & beyond) involved have a say in the production. The text used is taken from Edgar Lee Masters’ classic Spoon River Anthology, but the piece goes way beyond the beautiful poetry Masters wrote.

In it’s current form, the women of Spoon River have the chance to tell their stories from the grave. The structure of piece invokes the spirit of improv, every night it is different, neither the actors or director know who will be heard each time.
